February 2012 MOMMichigan's AmeriCorps Member of the Month
FEBRUARY 2012: Lashonda Price stumbled upon AmeriCorps by accident, but it has definitely turned out for the best! As a playgroup parent looking for resources, Lashonda soon found herself volunteering with The Guidance Center's Downriver CARES (DRC) AmeriCorps program in River Rouge. Kathleen Grandy, who was a current DRC member at the time, told her all about AmeriCorps and encouraged her to join. Lashonda is now a second year full-time Downriver CARES AmeriCorps member placed at the Walter White Community Resource Center in River Rouge.
