18300 AmeriCorps Members to Serve Grand Traverse Region on May 18 & 19
On Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19, more than 300 Michigan's AmeriCorps members from across the state will come to the Grand Traverse region for the 2012 Russ Mawby Signature Service Project. For two days, these members will serve in the community as they construct a Habitat home, plant trees to reduce erosion, build trails, remove invasive species, assist local schools, and restore historic structures. By the end of the second day, several projects in our community will be completed, thanks 2,700 hours of service provided by AmeriCorps members.
