Burt Lake State Park
Established in 1921, Burt Lake State Park is situated on the southeast corner of beautiful Burt Lake. The park is home to 2,000 feet of sandy shoreline, a shallow designated swim area, modern camping, boating, fishing, sightseeing and much more. The park is a popular family destination and a jumping-off point to Mackinac Island, Tahquamenon Falls, Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park and other regional attractions.
The park is in the heart of the Inland Waterway, a chain of rivers and lakes that offers approximately 38 miles of boating pleasure.

Burt Lake is at the heart of the Inland Waterway, a series of navigable rivers and lakes that stretch for 38 miles from Crooked Lake to Lake Huron.
Picnic shelter
There is a picnic shelter located in the day-use area that includes picnic tables, charcoal grills, electrical service (reservations only) and vault toilets. Shelter reservations can be made 12 months in advance at MiDNRReservations.com.
Beach house
The beach house is in the day-use area on Burt Lake and includes restrooms, food concessions and kayak rentals.
Biking
From the park, visitors can access the North Central State Trail via a paved path.
Concessions or store
Lake to Lake Rentals offers food concessions in the beach house in the day-use area.
Cross-country skiing
Fishing
Burt Lake, a 27-square-mile recreational lake, is popular for walleye fishing.

Seasonal naturalists offer nature-based programming at the park during the summer and/or fall. Check the park's explorer program calendar for dates, locations and topics.
Paddling
Paddling is popular on the Sturgeon River.
Pet-friendly features
Pets are welcome throughout the park (except for the designated swim beach). A designated animal beach is located on the south end of the park. Pets must always be on a 6-foot leash and under an owner’s immediate control. All pet waste must be properly disposed of in trash receptacles.
Picnic area
The picnic area is in the day-use area and includes picnic tables and charcoal grills that are available first come, first served.
Playground
Swings and slides are in the day-use area near the water.
Sanitation station
The park’s sanitation station is in the modern campground. There is potable water available and two lanes.
Swimming
A designated swim area is in the park’s day-use area.

The park is situated along the shores of Burt Lake and the Sturgeon River, providing easy access to the Inland Waterway.

Burt Lake Modern Campground
The modern campground is divided into two loops, the east loop and west loop. Campsites within view of Burt Lake are large and sunny. The other sites are shaded by oaks, maples and pines. The campground is located near the designated swimming beach, a boat ramp, swings and a slide, and a picnic area. There is either 20/30-amp or 50-amp service throughout the campground and a sanitation station. Recycling is available.

Burt Lake Mini Cabin
The mini cabin sleeps four people and includes two sets of single bunkbeds. You'll find a mini refrigerator, microwave and electric wall heater. A picnic table and a fire pit can be found outdoors. The cabins have electricity. You must provide your own linens and cookware.

The rustic group-use campground is open to youth groups. The tent-only site can accommodate 25 campers.
