Albert E. Sleeper State Park

Sleeper State Park is 723 acres of forest, wetlands, forested dunes and half a mile of sandy shoreline stretching along Lake Huron's Saginaw Bay. Visitors can watch both sunrises and sunsets, roam the forested trails, relax on the beach and enjoy the shade of the modern campground.

The day-use area is located directly across M-25/Port Austin Road and features a half-mile of sandy beach, a beach house and a picnic area. A pedestrian overpass bridge provides easy access.

The park was renamed in honor of Albert E. Sleeper, governor of Michigan (1917-1920) and Huron County resident, who signed into law the statute that created the state park system.

The park is located near the popular paddling destinations of the Pigeon and Pinnebog rivers. A short drive away, the charming town of Caseville offers a relaxing lakeside atmosphere. For a unique natural experience, embark on a 7-mile round trip hike along the Point aux Barques trail to see the iconic Turnip Rock, a striking geological formation in Lake Huron.
