SIGMA Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my account locked?

State of Michigan IT Access Control policies require any account that is inactive for more than 60 days to be locked. Please contact the SIGMA Helpdesk for assistance in unlocking your account. Assistance may be obtained by calling 517-284-0540.

What is SIGMA used for?

SIGMA for Local Entities is only used by qualified organizations to post solicitations (Request for Purchase, Request for Information, etc.) to the Michigan Vendor Self-Service system. Typically these solicitations are related to construction projects over $10,000.00. SIGMA for Local Entities cannot be used to track an organization's payments or grants from the State. To do that, please create a Vendor Self Service Account.

What if I need to manage solicitations for two different organizations or school districts?

One Local Entity account must be created per user per organization or school district. For example, if you need to manage a solicitation for X School District and Y School District, you must request access to MiLogin two different times: Once for X School District account, and another for Y School District account.

Is it possible that I have two SIGMA accounts?

Although rare, it’s possible to have one account for local entity procurement, and another as a vendor in VSS. These accounts would be separate and involve separate work/processes, unrelated to one another. Consider what actions are you intending to take to determine which account to log in to.
