A public hearing to consider the possible commutation of sentence for Douglas Burgess, Jr., #178559

The Michigan Parole Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. to consider the possible commutation of sentence for Douglas Burgess, Jr., #178559. The hearing will be conducted via video through Microsoft Teams.

Douglas Burgess, Jr. was sentenced to a term of 70 years to 105 years for the crime of Conspiracy to Commit Murder 1st Degree, to a term of 70 years to 105 years for the crime of Inciting, Inducing or Exhorting Another to Commit Murder, and to a term of Life for the crime of Murder 1st Degree.   Douglas Burgess, Jr. was sentenced on February 8, 1985, out of Bay County. 

Melissa K. Jennings, Member of the Michigan Parole Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of MCLA 791.244 prior to any recommendation for executive clemency by the Parole Board.
