Governor Granholm Names Members to the Child Support Leadership Council

Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointments of Jennie E. Barkey and Brian Mackie to the Michigan Child Support Leadership Council. Mackie will serve as chair of the council.
“Jennie and Brian will join the council in its mission to develop and implement programs that provide the support our Michigan families and children need,” Granholm said. “They are both highly committed to ensuring that the state’s child support programs get results for our children.”
Jennie Barkey, of Flint, serves as Circuit Court Referee in the Genesee County Friend of the Court where she hears testimony and makes recommendations on a variety of domestic relations issues, including custody, support, visitation, and property division. Barkey earned her law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Oakland University.
Brian Mackie, of Ann Arbor, is the Washtenaw County Prosecuting Attorney. He earned his law degree from Wayne State University Law School and holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Eastern Michigan University.
