Snyder makes appointments, reappointments to five boards and commissions

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced five appointments and reappointments to multiple boards and commissions.
“I’m confident this group of Michiganders will be a positive asset to these boards and commissions,” Snyder said.
Reappointment:
Neil French, of Reese, is the grower relations manager for ADM Edible Bean Specialties Inc., a dry bean elevator and processor. He has farmed for 42 years. French holds a degree in elevator management from Michigan State University. He will continue to represent processors, shippers and handlers.
French will serve a three-year term to expire Dec. 31, 2021.
Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery
Appointment:
Jesse Guasco, of East Lansing, is a faculty member in the Departments of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment and Psychiatry at Michigan State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in human biology and a Doctor of Osteopathy from Michigan State University. He will represent physicians and fill the vacancy created by the resignation of David Walters.
Guasco will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2020.
Appointment:
Aaron Van Langevelde, of Charlotte, is a policy advisor and serves as deputy legal counsel for the Michigan House of Representatives Republican Policy Office. Previously, he served as assistant prosecuting attorney in Branch County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Van Langevelde earned his bachelor’s degree in history with a concentration in business and political science from Michigan State University and law degree from Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He will represent Republicans and fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Colleen Pero.
Van Langevelde will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring Jan. 31, 2021.
Appointment:
Michelle Lange, of East Lansing, is the deputy director of legislative affairs for Gov. Rick Snyder. She previously served as state relations director for Oakland University. Lange earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and law degree from Michigan State University. She will represent members at large and fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Stephen Lasher.
Lange will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring June 30, 2022.
Michigan State Housing Development Authority
Appointment:
Jennifer Grau, of Lansing, is the president of Grau Interpersonal Communication. For 14 years she designed and delivered listening and speaking workshops for Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Grau earned her bachelor’s degree in interpersonal communication from Oberlin College and master’s degree in organizational communication from Michigan State University. She will represent Democrats and fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Scott Wierda.
Grau will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring March 10, 2019.
