Governor Granholm Announces New Appointments

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced appointments to the Commission for the Blind, Michigan Tax Tribunal, State Building Authority Board of Trustees, and the State Hospital Finance Authority.
Commission for the Blind
Jo Ann Pilarski, of Alpena, is a teacher for Alpena Public Schools. Pilarski is re-appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring September 30, 2006, and has been designated as chairperson of the commission.
Michigan Tax Tribunal
Patricia Halm, of Lansing, is an administrative law specialist. Halm is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2007. She succeeds Robert Brackenbury whose term has expired.
State Building Authority Board of Trustees
Robert C. Carr, of Okemos, is chairman of the board for Capitol National Bank. Carr is re-appointed for a term expiring August 21, 2007.
State Hospital Finance Authority
John E. Jacobs, of Huntington Woods, is a managing partner with DKW Law Group, P.C. He is appointed to represent the public members for a term expiring March 1, 2005.
Susan Work Martin, of Grand Rapids, is the associate vice president of academic affairs at Grand Valley University. Martin is re-appointed to represent the public members and has been designated as chair of the authority for a term expiring March 1, 2007.
All appointments require advice and consent of the Senate.
