Granholm Appoints Alfred Butzbaugh Judge of the 2nd Circuit Court

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Alfred M. Butzbaugh as Judge of the 2nd Circuit Court in Berrien County.
“Al’s heart and soul are committed to equal justice,” Granholm said. “He is driven by a dedication to fairness and respect for his fellow citizens. He will serve the citizens of Berrien County well.”
Butzbaugh most recently served as a member of the Butzbaugh & Dewane, P.L.C., law firm where he practiced with an emphasis on civil litigation, business transactions and planning. He was president of the State Bar of Michigan from 1999-2000.
Butzbaugh earned his law degree and bachelor’s of arts degree from the University of Michigan.
He replaces Judge John N. Fields who has retired. His term expires January 1, 2005.
