Governor Granholm Announces New Appointments

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Board and the Great Lakes Protection Fund Board of Directors:
Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Board
David Dempsey, of Lansing, policy advisor to the Michigan Environmental Council. Mr. Dempsey is appointed for a term expiring October 1, 2007. He succeeds Kevin E. Johnson whose term has expired. This appointment requires advice and consent of the Senate.
Great Lakes Protection Fund Board of Directors
Maureen Smyth, of East Lansing, vice president for programs at the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. Ms. Smyth is appointed for a term expiring October 11, 2004. She succeeds Russell Harding who has resigned. This appointment does not require advice and consent of the Senate.
