Governor Granholm Announces New Appointments

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Michigan Board of Pharmacy, and the Athletic Board of Control:
Michigan Board of Pharmacy
David Bach, R.Ph., of West Bloomfield, executive director of Pharmacy Services for the Detroit Medical Center. Mr. Bach is appointed to represent pharmacists for a term expiring June 30, 2007. He succeeds Stephen Durst, R.Ph. whose term has expired.
Pamela Byrnes Brown, of Chelsea, attorney, law office of Pamela H. Byrnes, P.C. Ms. Byrnes Brown is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2007. She succeeds Bonita Patricia Gibson whose term has expired.
Suhair Farida, P.Ph., of West Bloomfield, pharmacy supervisor for CVS Corporation. Ms. Farida is appointed to represent pharmacists for a term expiring June 30, 2007. She succeeds William McCarthy, R.Ph. whose term has expired.
Collin Hennessey, P.Ph., of Lansing, manager of the Department of Pharmacy at Sparrow Health System. Mr. Hennessey is appointed to represent pharmacists for a term expiring June 30, 2007. He succeeds Ronald Chomiuk, R.Ph. whose term has expired.
Athletic Board of Control
James Sype, of Okemos, former director of political affairs for Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Mr. Sype is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring March 31, 2007. He succeeds Bruce Birger whose term has expired.
The above appointments all require advice and consent of the Senate.
