Flags Lowered in Honor of Court of Appeals Judge Gary McDonald

LANSING – Flags at the Capitol Complex in Lansing, state facilities in Saginaw County, and all court facilities in Michigan will fly at half-staff on Tuesday, January 13, and Wednesday, January 14, in honor of former Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Gary McDonald who passed away on Friday, January 9, 2004.
 
Judge McDonald was appointed to the Saginaw District Court in 1972 by Governor William Milliken and served as a Saginaw County circuit judge from 1976 to 1987.  He was appointed to the 4th District Court of Appeals by Governor James Blanchard in 1987, and voters in his judicial district elected him three times – in 1988, 1994, and 2000.  Judge McDonald served with distinction until January of last year when he resigned his post due to ongoing health concerns.
