Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Michigan Transportation Commission

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Michigan Transportation Commission, which establishes policy for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), its programs and facilities, and other public works of the state, as provided by law.
Linda Miller Atkinson of Channing, partner at Nelson, Petruska, Atkinson & Hart, P.C. law firm. Ms. Atkinson is appointed for a expiring December 21, 2006. She succeeds C. Robert Baillod whose term has expired.
Vincent Brennan of Grosse Pointe Park, vice president of Everest Energy. Mr. Brennan is appointed for a term expiring December 21, 2006. He succeeds Lowell Jackson whose term has expired.
“Linda and Vincent are committed to working with the Transportation Commission on improving and maintaining our roadways for the citizens of Michigan,” said Granholm. “They will work hard to ensure that Michigan’s motorists are driving on the best roads possible, and that those roads are contributing to our economic strength.”

These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
