Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to U.P. State Fair Board of Managers

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm recently announced the appointment of Jerald Campbell of Pickford to the Upper Peninsula State Fair Board of Managers. Campbell is co-owner of Campbell’s Burntland Farms. He is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring September 30, 2008.
Steven Palosaari of Chassell, whose term on the board has expired, was reappointed to succeed John H. Kronemeyer who has resigned. Chassell is the executive vice president of Superior National Bank and Trust Company. He will represent the general public for a term expiring September 30, 2005.
"Jerald and Steven will work hand in hand with the other board members to ensure many future successful U.P. State Fairs," said Granholm. "The U.P. State Fair is a wonderful tool for promoting and highlighting all that Michigan’s U.P. has to offer."
The U.P. State Fair Board of Managers is responsible for controlling the lands and properties of the state for the purpose of holding and conducting an agricultural and industrial state fair in the Upper Peninsula.
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
