Governor Granholm Announces Appointments to Automobile Theft Prevention Authority Board of Directors

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Automobile Theft Prevention Authority Board of Directors.

Ella Bully-Cummings of Detroit, Chief of Police for the Detroit Police Department.  Chief Bully-Cummings is appointed to represent law enforcement for a term expiring July 1, 2006.  She succeeds Chief Jerry Oliver who has resigned.  This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. 

Colonel Tadarial Sturdivant of Plymouth, Director of the Department of Michigan State Police.  Col. Sturdivant is designated to serve as chairperson of board at the pleasure of the Governor.  This designation is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.

The Automobile Theft Prevention Authority Board of Directors is the leading agency in reducing auto theft in Michigan.  The authority oversees grant distribution to local law enforcement agencies and non-profit community organizations to reduce and prevent auto theft.
