Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Board of Barber Examiners

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointments of Michael E. Glasscoe of Lansing and George E. Pappas of Prudenville to the Board of Barber Examiners. The board licenses barbers, barber schools, barber shops, and instructors. It also has the authority to revoke and suspend licenses.

Glasscoe, owner of Michael G’s Hair Company located in downtown Lansing, is appointed to represent barbers for a term commencing October 1, 2004, and expiring September 30, 2008. He succeeds Jarvis Beene Sr. whose term will expire September 30, 2004.

Pappas, owner of George’s Barber/Stylist Shop in Prudenville, is appointed to represent barbers for a term expiring September 30, 2007. He succeeds Joe Loush whose term has expired.

These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
