Governor Granholm Reappoints Two to Veterans' Trust Fund Board of Trustees

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the reappointments of James R. Pintar, of Painesdale, and Arnold W. Zeile, of Lansing, to the Michigan Veterans' Trust Fund Board of Trustees   The Fund provides temporary assistance to veterans and their dependents for emergency and educational purposes.  The Fund also dispenses tuition funding to children of veterans 100 percent disabled or who were killed in service.

Pintar was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 1974 after 20 years of service.  He actively served in the Viet Nam War.  He is founding president of the Copper Country Veterans Association and has served as district commander of the 15th District (Western Upper Peninsula) Veterans of Foreign Wars post.   Pintar is reappointed to represent the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States for a term expiring February 25, 2007.

Zeile was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1945 as a decorated veteran of World War II.  He retired in 1982 after 30 years with Oldsmobile and is currently an active veteran's advocate.   Zeile is reappointed to represent the American Legion for a term expiring February 25, 2007.

These reappointments are not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
