Governor Granholm Announces Appointments to Mackinac Bridge Authority

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm announced the recent appointments of Patrick F. "Shorty" Gleason and Jon "Jack" LaSalle to the Mackinac Bridge Authority.
Gleason, of Davison, is business manager and financial secretary/treasurer of Iron Workers Local 25. He is appointed to represent Democrats for a term expiring June 30, 2010. Gleason succeeds Thomas Guastello whose term has expired.
LaSalle, of Marquette, is the field representative of the Michigan State Building and Construction Trades Council for the AFL-CIO. He is appointed to represent Democrats for a term expiring June 30, 2010. LaSalle succeeds Cameron Priebe whose term has expired.
The authority creates rules and regulations in order to provide and maintain a system of services to ensure the safe operation of the Mackinac Bridge.
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
