Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Michigan Aeronautics Commission

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointments of James M. Collins, of Marquette, and Sidney Adams, Jr., of Battle Creek, to the Michigan Aeronautics Commission.
Collins, an attorney in private practice, is a former judge of the 96th District Court. He is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring May 27, 2008, and succeeds Dean Greenblatt whose term has expired.
Adams is owner of Adams Computer Services and is former paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring May 27, 2008.
The commission is responsible for the general supervision of all aeronautics within the state. It is empowered by state law to make rules and regulations governing all airports, flight schools, and other aeronautical activities.
