Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Athletic Board of Control

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Athletic Board of Control:
Douglas J. Maskin of Bloomfield Hills, shareholder and trial attorney for Frank R. Langton & Associates, P.C. law firm in Sterling Heights. Mr. Maskin is appointed to represent professionals for a term expiring March 31, 2008. He succeeds Glenn Hirsch whose term has expired.
Earle L. Robinson of East Lansing, sports director for WKAR at Michigan State University. Mr. Robinson is appointed to represent professionals for a term expiring March 31, 2008. He succeeds William Phillips whose term has expired.
The board licenses and regulates professional and amateur boxing, sparring, and wrestling exhibitions in the state of Michigan.
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
