Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Collections Practices Board

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Collections Practices Board:
George R. Badeen of Northville, president/owner of Midwest Recovery & Adjustments, Inc. and Midwest Auto Auction, Inc. Mr. Badeen is appointed to represent professionals for a term expiring June 30, 2007. He succeeds Donald J. Turner whose term has expired.
David E. Cairnduff of Linden, vice president of Merchants & Medical Credit Corp. Mr. Cairnduff is appointed to represent professionals for a term expiring June 30, 2008. He succeeds Peter A. Vogelsberg whose term has expired.
The Collections Practices Board, created by Act 299 of 1980, prohibits certain collections practices, provides for licensing and regulating collections agencies, and imposes penalties for violation.
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
