Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Eastern Michigan and Oakland University Boards

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the boards of control for Eastern Michigan University and Oakland University:
Eastern Michigan University
Thomas W. Sidlik of Ann Arbor, member of the management board of DaimlerChrysler, responsible for global procurement and supply. Mr. Sidlik is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012. He succeeds Michael Morris whose term expires December 31, 2004.
Roy E. Wilbanks of Ypsilanti, former president and CEO for the Eastern Michigan University Foundation. Mr. Wilbanks is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012. He succeeds Rosalind E. Griffin whose term expires December 31, 2004.
Eastern Michigan University refers to its board of control as the “Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents.”
Oakland University
Jacqueline S. Long of Waterford. Ms. Long is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring August 11, 2012. She succeeds Dennis Muchmore whose term has expired.
Henry Baskin of Bloomfield Hills, president of The Baskin Law Firm, P.C. in Birmingham. Mr. Baskin is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring August 11, 2012.
Oakland University refers to its board of control as the “Oakland University Board of Trustees.”
These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
