Governor Granholm Designates Christine White Acting Racing Commissioner

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the designation of Christine C. White, of Bancroft, as acting racing commissioner. Ms. White is currently deputy director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and a former administrative officer with the United States Department of Agriculture Veterinary Services. She holds a bachelor of arts in political science from St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame.
Ms. White will ensure the enforcement of rules and regulations governing the conduct, safety, security, growth, and integrity of pari-mutuel wagering and horse racing in this state.
This designation is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
