Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Michigan Strategic Fund Board of Directors

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following recent appointments to the Michigan Strategic Fund Board of Directors: 

Linda K. Ewing of Grosse Pointe, research director for International Union UAW.  Ms. Ewing is appointed to represent the private sector for a term expiring December 31, 2007.  She succeeds Linda Jolicoeur who has resigned.  

Jayprakash B. Shah of Bloomfield Hills, chairman and president of the engineering and surveying firm, Spalding DeDecker Associates, Inc.  Mr. Shah is appointed to represent the private sector for a term expiring December 31, 2007.  He succeeds Facundo Bravo whose term has expired. 

The Michigan Strategic Fund Board of Directors serves as the state's lead business development and finance agency. 

These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963.  They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
