LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced that she will hold meetings with constituents in Hillsdale and Coldwater on Tuesday, April 26. The Governor holds constituent office hours once a month to recognize special achievements and to discuss issues with citizens from across the state.
“I want to bring state government closer to the people of Michigan,” Granholm said. “We’re holding office hours in Hillsdale and Coldwater to give me an opportunity to meet with two of the many communities that make our state great.”
Constituents who wish to meet with the Governor in Coldwater or Hillsdale, or wish to recommend someone for special recognition, must put their request in writing, outlining the reason they would like to speak with the Governor. The Governor’s Constituent Services Office will review all requests and schedule as many constituents as possible.
The Governor will hold office hours from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Hillsdale and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Coldwater. Written requests for a meeting with the Governor must be sent by Thursday, March 24. Requests can be mailed to the Constituent Services Division, Office of the Governor, P.O. Box 30013, Lansing, MI 48909, or be faxed to 517-335-6863.
“Office hours give me the chance to meet the customers of state government face-to-face, and to applaud those people who are making a difference in their community,” Granholm said. “I invite the residents in the Hillsdale and Coldwater areas to share their accomplishments and ideas and join with me in this opportunity to shape Michigan’s future.”
