Governor Granholm Appoints MacLeod to Michigan Economic Growth Authority

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Sande-Bain MacLeod to the Michigan Economic Growth Authority. MacLeod, of Pinconning, is executive vice president of UFCW Local 951.
MacLeod is appointed to represent persons not employed by the state having knowledge, skill, and experience in the academic, business, local government, labor, or financial fields for a term expiring April 18, 2007. She succeeds Denise Illitch who has resigned.
The Authority was created to promote economic growth and job creation within the state.
This appointment is subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
