Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to State Hospital Finance Authority

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following recent appointment and reappointment to the State Hospital Finance Authority:
Linda E. Bloch, of Birmingham, counsel at Maddin, Hauser, Wartell, Roth & Heller, P.C. is appointed to represent public members for a term expiring March 1, 2009. She succeeds John Jacobs whose term has expired.
Asad M. Malik, of Bloomfield, controller of Saint Mary’s Medical Center is reappointed to represent public members for a term expiring March 1, 2009.
The State Hospital Finance Authority provides hospitals within the state with appropriate means to expand, enlarge and establish health care and other related facilities.
These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
