Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Workers' Compensation Appellate Commission

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following recent appointments to the Workers’ Compensation Appellate Commission:
Gregory A. Przybylo of Okemos, attorney in private practice. Mr. Przybylo is appointed for a term expiring September 30, 2005. He succeeds Richard Leslie who has resigned.
Granner S. Ries of Clinton Township, attorney in private practice. Mr. Ries is appointed for a term expiring September 30, 2005. He succeeds William G. Reamon, Jr. who has resigned.
The Workers’ Compensation Appellate Commission has statutory authority to review opinions and orders of the worker’s compensation magistrates and to promulgate rules to amend its administrative appellate procedures. It also has the authority to review orders of the director of the Bureau of Workers Disability Compensation.
These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. The appointments stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
