Governor Granholm Appoints Barnett to State Boundary Commission

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the recent appointment of Vicki L. Barnett of Farmington Hills to the State Boundary Commission. Ms. Barnett is the mayor of Farmington Hills and an investment consultant with Linsco/Private Ledger (LPL) Financial Services in Southfield.
Ms. Barnett is appointed to represent the general public as a state member for a term expiring November 15, 2006. She succeeds Lloyd E. Walker whose term has expired.
The State Boundary Commission has the authority for annexation, incorporation, and consolidation processes involving local units of government.
This appointment is subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. It stands confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
