Governor Granholm Makes Reappointments to Certificate of Need Commission

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following recent reappointments to the Certificate of Need Commission:
Peter B. Ajluni, D.O. of Bloomfield Hills, president of Orthopedic Surgical Physicians, P.C. Dr. Ajluni, a Republican, is reappointed to represent physicians licensed in Michigan to engage in the practice of osteopathic medicine and surgery for a term expiring April 9, 2008.
Michael W. Young. D.O. of Flint, family physician for Genesys Integrated Group Practice, P.C. Dr. Young, a Democrat, is reappointed to represent physicians licensed in Michigan to represent a school of medicine or osteopathic medicine for a term expiring April 9, 2008.
The Certificate of Need Commission reviews and determines the need for new institutional health services, facilities, or organizations being offered or developed in Michigan. The Commission is part of the Michigan Department of Community Health.
These reappointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
