Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Mackinac Island State Park Commission

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointment and reappointment to the Mackinac Island State Park Commission:
Laurie A. Stupak of Menominee, former mayor of the city of Menominee. Ms. Stupak is appointed to represent Democrats for a term expiring April 12, 2011. She succeeds Bob Traxler whose term has expired.
Richard A. Manoogian of Grosse Pointe Farms, chairman and CEO of Masco Corporation. Mr. Manoogian is reappointed to represent Independents for a term expiring April 12, 2011.
The Mackinac Island State Park Commission is responsible for all aspects of managing Mackinac State Historic Parks, which include Fort Mackinac, Mackinac Island State Park, Colonial Michilimackinac, and Historic Mill Creek.
These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
