LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments and reappointments.
Military Appeals Tribunal
Judy E. Bregman of West Olive, licensed to practice law in Michigan, owner of Bregman & Welch law firm. Ms. Bregman is appointed for a term expiring April 16, 2007. She succeeds Michael Marston whose term has expired.
John P. Charters of Bloomfield Hills, licensed to practice law in Michigan, president of Charters, Heck, O’Donnell & Petrulis, P.C. law firm. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and a Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Charters is appointed for a term expiring April 16, 2007. He succeeds Stephen F. Pereira whose term has expired.
James K. Naddeo of Holly, licensed to practice law in Michigan, appeals officer for the IRS Office of Hearings & Appeals. He served 29 years as a judge advocate with the Michigan Army National Guard and is a retired state judge advocate. Mr. Naddeo is appointed for a term expiring April 16, 2008. He succeeds Ralph Wilbur whose term has expired.
Charles A. Palmer of Bath, licensed to practice law in Michigan, professor at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Mr. Palmer is a retired lieutenant colonel of the Judge Advocate General Corps, Michigan Army National Guard. Mr. Palmer is reappointed for a term expiring April 16, 2007.
The Military Appeals Tribunal, upon petition of an accused individual, has appellate jurisdiction to hear and review the record in all decisions of a military court-martial.
Construction Safety Standards Commission
D. Lynn Coleman of Ashley, training director for the Michigan Laborers Training and Apprenticeship Institute. Mr. Coleman is appointed to represent labor and persons actively engaged in construction operations on the employee level for a term expiring March 18, 2008. He succeeds Andrew R. Lang whose term has expired.
Ram Gunabalan, M.D. of Clarkston, president of Bio-Magnetic Resonance, Inc. Dr. Gunabalan is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring March 18, 2007. He succeeds Kris Mattilla whose term has expired.
Gregg A. Newsom of Milford, training director for Operating Engineers Local 324 Journeyman & Apprentice Training Find, Inc. Mr. Newsom is appointed to represent labor and persons actively engaged in construction operations on the employee level for a term expiring March 18, 2008. He succeeds Daniel J. Corbat whose term has expired.
Donald V. Staley of Lowell, safety manager for the Christman Company. Mr. Staley is appointed to represent management and persons actively engaged in construction operations on the management level for a term, expiring March 18, 2008. He succeeds Edward W. Tanzini whose term has expired.
Valerie J. Warren of Flushing, vice president of administration and safety director for Dee Cramer, Inc. Ms. Warren is appointed to represent management and persons actively engaged in construction operations on the management level for a term expiring March 18, 2007. She succeeds Cheryl L. Hughes whose term has expired.
The Construction Safety Standards Commission provides rules and establishes safety standards for construction operations to protect the life and safety of construction workers in Michigan.
All of the above appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
