Governor Granholm Makes Appointments

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following recent appointments and reappointments to the Michigan Board of Dentistry and the Emergency Telephone Service Committee.

Michigan Board of Dentistry

Lawrence M. Haber, D.D.S. of Commerce Township, adjunct clinical associate professor for the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, Department of Prosthodontic Restorative Dentistry.  Dr. Haber is appointed to represent dentists for a term expiring June 30, 2009.  He succeeds Irene Lazarchuk, D.D.S. whose term has expired.

Joanne A. Hodder, RDH of Grand Rapids, independent registered dental hygienist.  Ms. Hodder is appointed to represent dental hygienists for a term expiring June 30, 2009.  She succeeds Mary Frances Byers-Johnson whose term has expired.

Charles L. Marinelli, D.D.S. of Bloomfield Hills, dentist in private practice.  Dr. Marinelli is reappointed to represent dentists for a term expiring June 30, 2009.

The Michigan Board of Dentistry is responsible for the licensure and examination of persons prior to their entry into the practice of dentistry, dental hygiene, or dental assisting in Michigan, and for the certification of dental specialists.

These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963.  They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.

Emergency Telephone Service Committee

John F. Hunt of Belleville, associate director of public safety services with SBC Communications.  Mr. Hunt is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2007.

Scott R. Temple of Highland, transport engineer for Cingular Wireless.  Mr. Temple is reappointed to represent commercial mobile radio services for a term expiring June 30, 2007.

The Emergency Telephone Service Committee provides solutions to problems and penalties for violations of rules and regulations regarding the installation, operation, modification, and maintenance of universal emergency number service systems within the state of Michigan.

These reappointments are not subject to disapproval.
