LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments and reappointments to the State Building Authority Board of Trustees, the Michigan Board of Medicine, the Natural Resources Commission, the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy, the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, the Controlled Substances Advisory Commission, and the State Transportation Commission:
State Building Authority Board of Trustees
John A. Clark of Detroit, president of Clark & Company. Mr. Clark is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring August 21, 2009. He succeeds Rhonda Grant whose term has expired.
The State Building Authority Board of Trustees oversees the use and allocation of funds to acquire, construct, furnish, equip, renovate, operate, mortgage, and maintain facilities and equipment for the use of the State or any of its agencies, including public universities and community colleges.
This appointment is subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. It stands confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
Michigan Board of Medicine
Oliver G. Cameron, M.D., Ph.D. of Ann Arbor, active emeritus professor of psychiatry for the University of Michigan Medical Center. Dr. Cameron is appointed to represent physicians for a term expiring December 31, 2009. He succeeds Ali Moinn whose term has expired.
David L. Dull, M.D. of Ada, physician with Anesthesia Medical Consultants. Dr. Dull is appointed to represent physicians for a term expiring December 31, 2009. He succeeds Timothy Laing whose term has expired.
David S, Weingarden, M.D. of Southfield, president of David S. Weingarden, M.D. & Associates, P.C. Dr. Weingarden is appointed to represent physicians for a term expiring December 31, 2009. He succeeds Kenneth Edwards whose term has expired.
Scot F. Goldberg, M.D., M.B.A. of Bloomfield Hills, physician with South Macomb Internists, P.C. Dr. Goldberg is reappointed to represent physicians for a term expiring December 31, 2009.
Jeffrey M. Jones, M.D. of Battle Creek, physician with Neurology of Battle Creek. Dr. Jones is reappointed to represent physicians for a term expiring December 31, 2009.
Leticia J. San Diego, Ph.D. of Clinton Township, president of and consultant with Healthcare Management Development Center. Dr. San Diego is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2009.
The Michigan Board of Medicine is responsible for the examination and licensing of persons prior to their entry into the practice of allopathic medicine in Michigan. The board also establishes minimal standards of acceptable practice and assesses penalties when those standards are not met, and recommends licensure to schools or individuals once they pass the designated exam created by the board.

Natural Resources Commission
Keith J. Charters of Traverse City, owner of Charters’ Consulting and chairperson of the Natural Resources Commission. Mr. Charters is reappointed to represent Republicans for a term expiring December 31, 2009.
The Natural Resources Commission establishes general policies for the Department of Natural Resources and hires the department’s director. The commission also has exclusive authority to regulate the taking of game.
This reappointment is subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. It stands confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
Board of Marriage and Family Therapy
Joette M. Lambert of Pleasant Ridge, assistant professor of nursing with the University of Detroit Mercy School of Nursing. Ms. Lambert is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2007. She succeeds Lisa Lazar whose term has expired.
The Board of Marriage and Family Therapy is responsible for the promulgation of rules to set minimal standards of acceptable practices and to assess penalties when those standards are not met. The board is also responsible for the recommendation of licensure to schools or individuals that have passed the designated exam created by the board.
This appointment is subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. It stands confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
James E. Dillon, M.D. of Ann Arbor, chief of clinical affairs with the Michigan Department of Community Health, Corrections Mental Hospital Program. Dr. Dillon is appointed to represent physicians for a term expiring October 1, 2007. He succeeds Max H. Robbins whose term has expired.
Rockelle D. Rogers, M.D. of Portage, medical director with Family Health Center, Inc. Dr. Rogers is appointed to represent physicians for a term expiring October 1, 2007. She succeeds Richard Slaughter whose term has expired.
Giovannino A. Perri, M.D., M.P.H. of Lansing, chief medical consultant with the Michigan Department of Community Health Medical Services Administration. Dr. Perri is reappointed to represent physicians for a term expiring October 1, 2007.
The Michigan Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee advises the Department of Community Health on issues affecting prescription drug coverage for its various health care programs.
These appointments are not subject to disapproval.
Controlled Substances Advisory Committee
Lawrence A. Letsche, D.V.M. of Plymouth, owner and veterinarian with Remrock Farms Veterinary Hospital. Mr. Letsche is appointed to represent the Michigan Board of Veterinary Medicine for a term expiring August 30, 2007. He succeeds Patricia O’Handley whose term has expired.
The Controlled Substances Advisory Commission is responsible for monitoring indicators of controlled substance abuse and diversion, and recommending a plan of action for overcoming such abuse and diversion.

State Transportation Commission
James S. Scalici of Bingham Farms, president and owner of American Construction Engineers. Mr. Scalici is appointed to represent Republicans for a term expiring December 21, 2008. He succeeds Robert Bender whose term has expired.
Ted B. Wahby of St. Clair Shores, Macomb County treasurer. Mr. Wahby is reappointed to represent Democrats for a term expiring December 21, 2008.
The State Transportation Commission establishes policies for the Department of Transportation, its programs and facilities, and other public works of the state, as provided by law. Responsibilities of the bipartisan commission include the development and implementation of comprehensive transportation plans for the entire state, providing professional and technical assistance to the department, and overseeing the administration of state and federal funds allocated for these programs.
