Granholm Appoints Deborah Servitto Judge of 2nd District Court of Appeals

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Judge Deborah Servitto as Appeals Court Judge for the 2nd District, serving the counties of Macomb, Oakland, Shiawassee, and Genesee.
Servitto, of Mt. Clemens, most recently served 16 years as judge in the 16th Circuit Court for Macomb County. Previous to her service in the Circuit Court, Servitto was a judge in the 37th District Court for the city of Warren. She is a former chair of the Macomb County Community Corrections Advisory Board and a founding member of Care House.
Servitto earned her law degree from the Detroit College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Oakland University.
Servitto replaces Judge Hilda Gage who has retired. Her term is effective March 23, 2006 and expires January 1, 2007.
This appointment is not subject to disapproval.
