Governor Granholm's Statement on Announcement of GM Buyout Plan

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today offered the following statement on the announcement of a General Motors buyout plan.

“Despite the Bush Administration's continued indifference to the plight of our manufacturers, this agreement signals that Michigan's manufacturers and workers are committed to working together in new ways to protect workers, keep Delphi jobs here, and avert a strike.  This agreement reflects the determination on all sides to achieve success.”   

The Governor praised all parties for their hard work to generate a great outcome for Michigan workers and jobs.
