Granholm Appoints Maddox to Elevator Safety Board

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Antwane M. Maddox to the Elevator Safety Board. Maddox, of Detroit, is an elevator inspector for the Mechanical Inspection Division of the city of Detroit.
Mr. Maddox is appointed to represent municipalities with a population over 500,000 for a term expiring July 22, 2010. He succeeds Willie Johnson whose term has expired.
The Elevator Safety Board is responsible for promulgating rules, preparing examinations, and issuing elevator contractor licenses.
This appointment is subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. It stands confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
