Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Grand Valley State University, Ferris State University Boards of Control

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Grand Valley State University and the Ferris State University Boards of Control:
Grand Valley State University Board of Control
Shelly E. Padnos of Douglas, executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Louis Padnos Iron and Metal Company. Ms. Padnos is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2014. She succeeds José A. Infante, Jr. whose term has expired.
Michael D. Thomas of Freeland, prosecuting attorney for Saginaw County. Mr. Thomas is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2014. He succeeds Jessie F. Dalman whose term has expired.
Ferris State University Board of Control
Patrick LaPine of Farmington, vice president of governmental affairs for Michigan Credit Union League. Mr. LaPine is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2014. He succeeds Gregory L. Patera whose term has expired.
Sueann Walz of Big Rapids, assistant vice president and branch manager of Independent Bank West. Ms. Walz is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2014. She succeeds Olgalina G. Dazzo whose term has expired.
These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Michigan Senate within 60 days.
