Governor Appoints Baillargeon Judge of 48th Circuit Court

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm announced the recent appointment of William A. Baillargeon as judge of the 48th Circuit Court, which serves Allegan County.

Baillargeon, of Saugatuck, most recently served as a magistrate for the Workers' Compensation Board of Magistrates, and prior to that worked as a senior trial specialist with the law offices of Paula J. Martin/CAN Insurance Company.  Mr. Baillargeon's past participation in civic organizations includes tutoring for the Literacy Volunteers of America and acting as youth group facilitator for Affirmations Community Center.  He is also a lector at St. Peter's Church in Saugatuck.

Mr. Baillargeon earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. 

He replaces Judge Harry A. Beach, who has resigned, for a term expiring January 1, 2009. This appointment is not subject to disapproval.
