Governor Granholm Appoints Michael J. Klaeren Judge of 12th District Court

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Michael J. Klaeren as judge of the 12th District Court in Jackson County for a term expiring January 1, 2009. He replaces the Honorable Charles Falahee who has resigned.
Klaeren, of Jackson, recently served as attorney, partner, and treasurer of Best, Heyns, Klaeren & Schroeder, P.C. law firm. His career focus has been on insurance defense in the areas of auto negligence, general liability, medical malpractice, products liability, and workers' compensation. He is also actively involved in various Jackson High School committees.
Klaeren earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toledo and his bachelor's degree from Kalamazoo College.
This appointment is not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
