Governor Granholm Appoints, Reappoints to Saginaw Valley State University Board of Control

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointment and reappointment to the Saginaw Valley State University Board of Control:
Jeffrey T. Martin of Saginaw, community relations leader for Dow Chemical Company, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring July 21, 2015. He succeeds Ruth A. Braun whose term has expired.
Jerome L. Yantz of Bay City, certified public accountant and president of Weinlander Fitzhugh, is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring July 21, 2015.
The Saginaw Valley State University Board of Control is responsible for the general supervision of the institution and the control and direction of all expenditures from the institution's funds. If necessary, the board will bear the responsibility of electing a president of the institution.
These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
