Governor Granholm Appoints Michael Beale Judge of 42nd Circuit Court

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Michael J. Beale as judge of the 42nd Circuit Court, which serves Midland County, for a term expiring January 1, 2009. He replaces Judge Paul Clulo who has resigned.
Beale, a Midland native, most recently served as attorney with Handlon, Eastman, DeWitt & Beale law firm. He previously served as associate attorney with Plunket & Cooney law firm (1992-1995) and as a judicial law clerk for the Michigan Supreme Court (1990-1992). His participation in civic organizations includes serving as coordinator of the Ask a Lawyer Program and as coach/advisor of Midland High School's mock trial.
Beale earned his law degree from the University of Detroit and his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University.
This appointment is not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
