Governor Granholm Announces Appointments

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following recent appointments:
Michigan Board of Pharmacy
Dale J. Carlson of Ferndale, administrative director of medical education for William Beaumont Hospitals, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2010. She succeeds Jerome J. Washington who has resigned.
Edward L. Rivet of Bay City, retired electrician and electronic technician at the Bay City Powertrain Plant for General Motors Corporation, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2011. He succeeds Dale E. Cole whose term has expired.
The Michigan Board of Pharmacy is responsible for the licensure and examination of pharmacists; licensure of pharmacies, manufacturers and wholesale distributors; and the regulation of drugs manufactured, distributed, prescribed, dispensed and administered in the state.
These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
Michigan Board of Audiology
Steven B. Kauffman of Grandville, former chairman of United Transportation, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2008. He succeeds John D. VanDeventer who has resigned.
The Michigan Board of Audiology was created pursuant to Public Act 97 of 2004 and is responsible for overseeing the licensure and regulation of audiologists, including establishing specific requirements for licensure.
This appointment is subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. It stands confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
Michigan Board of Psychology
James A. Gualdoni of Wolverine Lake, retired education administrator for the Department of Defense, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2010. He succeeds Mary J. Wall whose term has expired.
Christopher J. Flores of Flint, vice president and corporation compliance officer of Insight Corporation and executive director of Community Recovery Services/ Project Independence, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2010. He succeeds Lynne E. Aronoff whose term has expired.
James D. Reed, Ph.D. of Lansing, owner and psychologist of Innervisions Psychological Services, is appointed to represent psychologists for a term commencing April 29, 2008, and expiring December 31, 2011. He succeeds Patricia L. Watson, Ph.D. whose term has expired.
Julie M. Cowie of South Haven, clerk for Casco Township, is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2011.
The Michigan Board of Psychology provides for the licensure and examination of psychologists in the state.
