LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm has honored the friendly wager she placed with North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue on the 2009 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship that was played at Ford Field in Detroit last Monday.
On Sunday, Granholm and Perdue agreed that the governor of the losing team's state would be photographed enjoying some tasty treats from the winning state while wearing the winning team's jersey and hat. A photo of the occasion had to be publicly released. The governor of the losing team was also required to donate $100 to a local food bank in the winning team's state.
Granholm is seen here enjoying some Krispy Kreme doughnuts decorated in "Tar Heel" blue icing while wearing a Tar Heel jersey and hat provided by Governor Perdue. She has also made a $100 personal donation to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
