Governor Granholm Announces Judicial Appointments

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following judicial appointments:
18th Probate Court District (Mecosta and Osceola Counties)
Marco Menezes of Hersey, current attorney in private practice, is appointed as Judge of Probate for the 18th Probate Court District, serving Mecosta and Osceola Counties, for a term expiring January 1, 2011. He replaces Judge LaVail Hull who has resigned. Menezes earned his law degree from Thomas Cooley Law School and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida.
Arenac County Probate Court
Richard Vollbach Jr. of Standish, current chief assistant prosecutor with Arenac County and general partner with Broughton & Vollbach law firm, is appointed as Judge of Probate for the Arenac County Probate Court for a term expiring January 1, 2011. He replaces Judge Jack Scully who has resigned. Vollbach earned his law degree from the Detroit College of Law and received his bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University.
These appointments are not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
