Governor Granholm Announces Appointment of William C. McConico as Judge of 36th District Court

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of William C. McConico as judge of the 36th District Court, which serves the city of Detroit, for a term expiring January 1, 2013. He replaces the Honorable C. Lorene Royster who has resigned.
McConico, of Detroit, most recently served as city attorney for Highland Park. Previously, he was an attorney with Allen Brothers P.L.L.C. law firm and a state representative representing the city of Detroit. He is currently a board member of the Detroit-Wayne County Port Authority and served as vice chair of government relations for the Super Bowl XL host committee.
McConico earned his law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio, and his bachelor's degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
This appointment is not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
