LANSING, MI - Governor Rick Snyder today announced the reappointment of Ernest E. Meyers and the appointment of James Dunn to the Michigan Veterans Facilities Board of Managers.
The board has certain regulatory and governance authority regarding the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette and the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
"These distinguished veterans will use their knowledge and experience to help ensure that our military veterans receive the highest quality of care," Snyder said.
Dunn, of East Lansing, is an attorney and president of James Dunn, PLLC. He previously served as an Army officer, earning the rank of captain. Dunn was a company and battery commander in the Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of South Korea. He was awarded eight medals, including the Purple Heart during his military service. Dunn replaces David E. Hall and will serve a six-year term, expiring on Feb. 28, 2017.
Meyers, of Charlotte, is retired from GM Powertrain in Pontiac. He is a past state commander and national council member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Meyers also served seven years with the Army National Guard unit in Grand Ledge, a tour with the Marine Corps in Vietnam and two years in the Navy aboard the USS Ingersoll during the Tonkin Gulf tour. He will serve a six-year term, expiring on Feb. 28, 2017.
