LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Jerry Philo to the Board of Mechanical Rules.
The board makes recommendations for mechanical code rules, issues mechanical contractor's licenses to qualified applicants and makes necessary orders, rules, and regulations.
"I am confident that Jerry will work to ensure a simple, fair and efficient regulatory environment for Michigan's mechanical contractors," Snyder said.
Philo, of Northville, is an associate and senior project manager with Harley Ellis Devereaux, one of the nation's largest design firms. He is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies of the Michigan Risk Management Committee (ACEC) and the Engineering Society of Detroit. Philo earned a bachelor's degree from Michigan Technological University.
Philo will represent professional mechanical engineers and fills a vacancy left by Gregory Parker. He will serve the balance of a four-year term expiring October 1, 2012, and is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
