LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today appointed Matt Davis and James Lance to the Michigan Board of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons.

The board licenses and regulates the practice of real estate brokers and salespersons in Michigan.

"These appointees will help ensure real estate agents and sales representatives are providing Michigan's homeowners and buyers with the best and most fair services," Snyder said.

Davis, of Marshall, is a realtor with Rosemary Davis Realtors. He was named twice as the Battle Creek Area Association of Realtors' "Realtor of the Year." Davis is the chair of the Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and was elected to the Board of Trustees of Kellogg Community College. He earned a bachelor's degree from Miami University of Ohio. Davis represents real estate brokers and salespersons and replaces Brian Huggler.

Lance, of Battle Creek, is an associate attorney with Kreis, Enderle, Hudgins & Borsos P.C., where he heads the firm's Appellate Practice Group. He previously served as a clerk for Chief Justice Clifford Taylor and served in former Governor John Engler's legal division. Lance earned both bachelor's and law degrees from Michigan State University. He represents the general public and replaces Kyrian Nwabueze Nwagwu.

Appointees will serve four-year terms expiring June 30, 2015, and are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
